My mother is adamant against Harry Potter, so I actually am just starting to read those now that I'm away in college. But the one series I got into real trouble for trying to read was the "Series of Unfortunate Events." My mom said is was too violent and distastful. I borrowed a friend's copy every time I was over at her house. XD
